Our Clinical Operations & Nursing Director receives prestigious Bullwinkel Scholarship award
We’re delighted to share that last week, our very own Clinical Operations & Nursing Director, Sally O’Callaghan was awarded a scholarship as part of the Bullwinkel Scholars Program.
The program, funded by The Bullwinkel Project, aims to honour the memory and sacrifice of the 21 nurses who were tragically massacred at Radji Beach on Bangka Island, Indonesia, in February 1942, along with the remarkable Lt Col Vivian Bullwinkel, who was the sole survivor.
In recognition of Sally’s dedication and commitment to the nursing profession and provision of care for all her patients, the Bullwinkel Scholars Program will allow Sally and other recipients to continue their journey as leaders in providing exceptional healthcare for all Australians. They will be known as The Bullwinkel Scholars.
“These scholarships symbolise the resilience and dedication of nurses throughout history and will empower future generations of nurses to lead and innovate in their field.”
Aligned with the values of the Bullwinkel Scholars Program, we’re proud to have Sally’s unwavering commitment to advancing patient care and her passion for promoting the role of research nursing as part of our team at Doherty Clinical Trials.
